What it actually is

The treatment that is chosen, not ordered.

A chemical peel is not one treatment. It is a family of them, and which acid, what strength and how long it stays on are decided by your skin, your concern and how much recovery you can realistically take. A superficial lactic peel and a stronger resurfacing blend are entirely different appointments with the same name.

That is why this is the one treatment on the menu without a fixed duration or a set protocol. We assess first, and we would rather start conservatively and build than overshoot on a first appointment — with peels, overshooting means visible consequences you have to live with for a week or more.

Used properly and in a course, peels remain the most effective non-invasive tool for pigmentation and sun damage. Used carelessly on the wrong skin, they cause exactly the pigmentation they were meant to treat. The assessment is not a formality.

The appointment

What the appointment involves.

Assess honestly

Skin type, history, medication and how much downtime you can take. This decides everything that follows.

Prepare

Degreased thoroughly and sensitive areas protected. Uneven prep gives an uneven peel.

Apply and time

Applied in layers and watched closely. Timing is the entire skill of peel work.

Neutralise and protect

Stopped on schedule, calmed, then detailed aftercare — which matters more here than in any other treatment.

Why people rebook it

What you should reasonably expect.

Genuine pigment change

The most effective non-invasive option for sun damage and uneven tone.

Smoother texture

Roughness and shallow scarring soften across a course.

Scaled to you

Strength is matched to your skin and your schedule, not a fixed menu item.

Fades old marks

The brown marks breakouts leave behind respond particularly well.

Being straight with you

When this is the right call — and when it isn't.

A good fit if

  • Pigmentation, sun damage or uneven tone is your main concern
  • Old breakouts have left marks that will not fade
  • You can take some visible flaking for a few days
  • You want a course with a real plan behind it

Probably not, if

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are taking isotretinoin or finished it recently
  • You cannot commit to strict sun protection afterwards — this is how peels cause pigmentation

We would genuinely rather move you onto the right treatment than take the booking for this one.

Questions

What people ask before booking.

How much will I actually peel?
It depends entirely on the strength we agree. A superficial peel may give light flaking for two or three days; a stronger one means visible shedding for up to a week. We will tell you plainly before you commit.
Why is there no set price or duration listed?
Because it genuinely varies. The peel suited to melasma is not the peel suited to acne marks, and quoting a single figure would mean quoting the wrong one. Call and we will talk through it.
Is it safe on deeper skin tones?
Yes, with the right choice of acid and a conservative approach. Some peels are a poor idea on richer skin tones because of the pigmentation risk, which is exactly why the assessment happens first.
Can I have one before a holiday?
No — leave a clear two weeks either side. Freshly peeled skin in strong sun is the fastest way to create the pigmentation you came in to treat.
How is this different from BioRePeel?
BioRePeel is formulated for minimal shedding and a consistent protocol. A traditional peel can be taken stronger and pushed further, which is what pigmentation often needs — with visible recovery as the trade-off.
